What is Keyboard Navigation?
Keyboard navigation is the ability to use the keyboard to navigate through an application or website. This is done by using a combination of keystrokes and modifier keys, such as the Tab key, the arrow keys, and the Shift key. Keyboard navigation can be used to access all of the features and content on a web page without using a mouse.
Why Learn Keyboard Navigation?
There are several reasons why you might want to learn keyboard navigation. First, it can make you more efficient when using a computer. By using the keyboard, you can quickly move around a web page or application without having to take your hands off the keyboard. This can save you time and effort, especially if you use a computer for long periods of time.
Second, keyboard navigation can make your work more accurate. When you use a mouse, it can be difficult to precisely click on small targets. This can lead to errors, such as clicking on the wrong link or button. Keyboard navigation can help you avoid these errors by allowing you to use the arrow keys to move precisely to the target.
Third, keyboard navigation can help you be more accessible. If you have a disability that makes it difficult to use a mouse, keyboard navigation can provide you with an alternative way to access computer applications and websites.
