The Strategic Sourcing Manager is a senior-level operations management position that specializes in acquisition, procurement, and supply chain management. Strategic Sourcing Managers play a key role in the strategy of a business or organization through their work securing and optimizing vendor relationships while driving favorable pricing on goods and services purchased.
Strategic Sourcing Managers are often the first point of contact for vendors in establishing contracts or sourcing partnerships. Strategic Sourcing Managers are responsible for obtaining the best value for their organization and developing strong supplier relationships.

Education and Background

Most Strategic Sourcing Managers have a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Some Strategic Sourcing Managers also hold a master's degree in business administration (MBA).
