Introducción a los derechos humanos from edX

Los derechos humanos corresponden al conjunto básico de derechos y libertades fundamentales inherentes a todos los seres humanos por el simple hecho de nacer, sin perjuicio de la raza, el sexo, la religión, la orientación sexual o las consideraciones políticas. A partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, la comunidad internacional avanzó en la construcción de una estructura para la protección efectiva de los derechos humanos a nivel mundial, lo que incluyó la negociación de tratados internacionales y la creación de estructuras de tipo regional como el Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos. En este contexto, el presente curso promueve una articulación entre los conceptos esenciales que constituyen el núcleo básico de aprendizaje sobre derechos humanos y los mecanismos de protección de los derechos humanos a nivel internacional y doméstico.

El curso cuenta con un enfoque práctico que facilita la comprensión de las implicaciones de los estándares para Estados y empresas. Para ello, se utilizarán recursos de contenido teórico, documentos de referencia, videos y espacios para el debate, así como ejercicios prácticos.
