En el curso estructura de capital y política de dividendos se analizará la forma en la que una empresa financia sus activos a través de métodos internos o externos, estructurando así su pasivo y capital. Dichas fuentes de financiamiento se ven reflejadas en el costo de capital promedio ponderado (Weighted Average Cost of Capital- WACC). De la mano de la determinación de dicho costo de financiamiento y de la estructura del capital, el administrador financiero deberá determinar la política de dividendos, tomando como referencia el teorema de Modilgliani – Miller. En este curso el administrador financiero adicionalmente será capaz de evaluar activos financieros o portafolios, evaluando la relacion que existe entre riesgo y retorno bien a través del modelo Capital Asset Pricing Model CAPM o del Arbitrage Pricing Theory APT.

Estructura de Capital
En este módulo, Estructura de Capital, verificaremos el concepto de capital con el que cuenta la empresa y que es aportado por accionistas de la empresa, es decir, los dueños de ese capital. La existencia óptima de la estructura de capital, esto quiere decir, la mezcla o el conjunto de capital propio y capital ajeno para el desarrollo de las funciones de la empresa.
Costo de Capital
Como es frecuente que la utilización de capital tenga un costo que se relaciona íntimamente con el resultado del ciclo operativo de la empresa, debemos revisar el concepto clásico de la estructura de capital, así como las proposiciones de Modigliani y Miller, las cuales nos llevarán a determinar una estructura óptima de capital.
Riesgo
Continuando con la revisión de la conformación del capital de la empresa verificaremos el concepto de riesgo, considerando como riesgo financiero aquel que se encuentra presente en las decisiones de financiamiento de las operaciones de la empresa, y revisaremos el concepto beta, necesario para la valoración de ese riesgo financiero.
Valuación de Activos Financieros (CAPM)
Veremos el concepto de valuación de activos financieros (CAPM) y que esa valuación nos permitirá visualizar la valuación de los activos financieros revisando el modelo correspondiente y su aplicación de acuerdo a la fórmula de ese concepto.
Política de Dividendos
Ahora vamos a verificar el significado de la política de dividendos. La estructura de capital a la que nos hemos referido está representada por diversos tipos de acciones y su adecuada aplicación, como el retorno del capital de los accionistas y de los proveedores. Y la forma adecuada en la que el administrador financiero elegirá la mejor estructura de capital, que beneficie al resultado final llamado política de dividendos.
