We refer to it as a "street fight" but it can be at the bus , the mall, the road, or while waiting to get services. We see it on the news: people are being assaulted by other all over the world. So what do we do ? Should we trust our luck that the next act of violence will not be directed at us? Maybe if we stay nice and quiet, all will be Ok ?  Maybe we should waive our right to speak in public; this is the safest choice, right?

We refer to it as a "street fight" but it can be at the bus , the mall, the road, or while waiting to get services. We see it on the news: people are being assaulted by other all over the world. So what do we do ? Should we trust our luck that the next act of violence will not be directed at us? Maybe if we stay nice and quiet, all will be Ok ?  Maybe we should waive our right to speak in public; this is the safest choice, right?

Well In fact, we can tell that often, aggressors and criminals retrospectively admit that their victim looked like an easy target, and unfortunately, in that way, those people were not far from the animal instincts of nature.

In addition , almost no victim saw it coming unfortunantly .

2025, and people still fight over small things when driving, shopping, waiting for the doctor, and what not. While in Reality Based Fighting we agree that it's best to try and defuse a situation by speaking softly and carrying a big stick and that we should try to avoid escalations as much as we can, sometimes we can't. Maybe we have to protect someone, like a child or a spouse, or maybe we cannot run or break free from this place.

we think that you have to be confident in your skills to look confident and defuse attacks from coming your way, based on the same logic presented by the aggressors as mentioned. Just by our confident behavior, we can avoid escalations, which we can gain by learning and practicing martial arts, of course.

we claim that several martial arts were sublimated and changed to sports instead of real self-defense. This is why Yuval Nechamkin, head instructor, questioned the practicality of traditional martial arts that he eagerly learned , came to a conclusion of what to learn, which is most practical (stuff that works on the ring), in addition to what dangers the street brings our way, like sharp or blunt objects, no rules, no gloves, no referee, why we want to avoid the ground (well, because we don't want his or her friends to kick us in the head while we are there), why we want to minimize kicks and work more with our hands (stability, and again, don't want to go to the ground). We want you to learn from our experience (Yuval's and other instructors he trained with, and senior students) how to become a fighter instead of another victim of violence. as we advise not to go to the ground in a street fight, we do not focus on bjj or ground work; instead, we learn how to gain a well-defended body position in addition to quick response from the vast range of tools we will teach you to add to your tool box.

We want you to train and gain "muscle memory,"  not just theoretical knowledge. So just watching the course is not enough , practice .

Learn about the real dangers of a knife from one of the best short blade experts in Israel, head instructor Yuval Nechamkin, who has martial arts experience as a student of boxing, grappling, and Filipino (kali, escrima, and arnis) with over 30 years of experience and as an instructor for over 20 years, always learning and refining the data we see on the news or cameras of real-life attacks and assaults. We think that any person in this world could benefit from what this detailed course has to offer, and we encourage practicing and training with us safely using safety glasses (hardware stores) and a mouthpiece (sports stores).  you can learn how to operate them at many videos found on youtube (prepare the mouthpiece , wear the safety glasses for eye safety) .

Train very slowly until you gain dexterity, always watch out for your partner. be very easy on the joint locks , set a sign that notifies without words that the lock hurts , like a double tap on your partner , and do not apply too sharp movements .

while working with a partner close your fist good but with a small gap (1 finger width) to hit softly on your opopnent targets . never hit hard or too fast . we will discuss this further regarding a real scenario and a training scenario in the course.

do not harm by training or attacking any person , do not hurt people who are not capable, like the elderly, women, men, other genders, children, sick, weak, or disabled by sight or other issue that may lower their ability or capability to defend themselves, avoid harming innocent people or animals, and try to deescalate any bad situation with good words and good actions. We at reality-based fighting believe in learning self-defense , not just martial arts, which is first and foremost gained by not being at the wrong place at the wrong time, never looking for troubles, and always acting as a good citizen under the law of your country you ar at.

Never use the methods you see if no life-threatening situation , or major  crime occurs against you or loved ones ,learn your country's rules and apply them as a citizen under the law.

Use no harmful sharp or blunt cold \ hot weapons while practicing . or anything that could harm you or your partner in any way. you can buy a cheap full rubber knife or bat online, and work with caution on the drills, listening to instructions, not hitting with hard, fully closed fists, kicks, or anything that could harm someone, avoid taking someone to a hard ground when praciticing. Apply the techniques only for self-defense and not for any criminal action.
