Contents and Overview

This course starts with a welcoming section. First you will get an overview about the course. I will shortly introduce myself to you so that you know which whom you will work over the duration of this course. After that you will get introduced to the course structure and how to follow the sections and lectures.

You start with a warm up routine especially created for acrobatics and gymnastics. It is a full body warm up and you should always do this before your main training.

Then you will challenge the main part of this course - the moves. You will start by learning a really awesome ground move aka breakdance skill like the Swipe. Then you will learn advanced kicks like the Pop 720 Kick, the Cheat 540 Kick and the Cheat 720 Kick. And from there it continues with very original and quite unconventional moves like the Touch Down Raiz and the Butterfly Twist. And of course you will finally learn the classic flips like the Frontflip, Sideflip and the Backflip followed by some advanced variations like the Webster and the Flashkick.

Step by step and with slow but efficient progressions you will go through 11 moves which will take you to an intermediate level. As a natural side effect you will significantly increase your body control, balance and agility. You will get into better shape than ever and widen your range of abilities.

While learning the moves you will also encounter special theory lectures. You will learn new setups and practice two of the most important ways to enter flips. You also gain important knowledge about flipping motions and specific techniques will be explained in more detail.

In between the main sections of the moves you will be asked to combine the freshly learned moves with each other. I call these sections "Challenges" and they are designed to challenge you in combining and apply the moves you have already learned.

At the end when you have mastered all the moves and feel confident about them - there will be a bonus section for you. In this section you will learn how to combine all the acrobatic flips and kicks and create really interesting combinations. By no later than that, you will have successfully improved to the next level. You have regained your confidence, have full control over your body and your abilities and you can be totally creative in movement.

Have fun!

In this intro lecture you get a little background about warming up in general and "why" it is so important. You will know exactly what the benefits of a good warm up are and it will not take long until warming up from head to toes feels like the most natural thing in the world!

This lecture shows a warm up routine which covers the whole body from head to toes. It is a full length routine and I recommend you to follow along the routine a few times until you know how it works. I recommend you whenever possible use at least 10 minutes to warm up your body correctly. This warm up routine contains quite a lot of exercises and you don`t need to do all of them each time. In fact I myself change and mix up different exercises each time. Feel free to pick the one`s you like but always make sure that you`ve got one or two exercises per body part so that you cover the whole body.

Warming up and conditioning the body is one of the most central things in my coaching. It helps so much in feeling better in general and just being in good shape. And when it comes to such complex movement like in acrobatics it is even more important to keep a good health and a strong body.

In this lecture you will encounter a quick but intense Kick Warm Up Sequence. It is a follow along routine, 2 - 3 minutes in duration and quite intense. It covers the three foundational kicks Outside Crescent, Inside Crescent and Rising Kick. It is a great sequence to transition from the warm up into the main training part since it is still for warming up purposes but focuses already towards more martial arts specific movements. I recommend that you do this routine after the regular whole body warm up. Also a great way is to integrate this sequence into your strength training or any workout you do. Have fun!

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Swipe. After this lecture you have an idea of this trick, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill. Finally you are ready for learning the move by using the following progressions.

In this lecture you can study the Swipe in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

In the first step you learn the correct starting position and the basic motion. This step is not too difficult and yet important for the understanding of this trick. It also helps you to condition your body so that you will be ready to take on the next steps.

The second lecture focuses on the legs and hip. You will have to keep them as high up as possible and you learn how to control the motion. After the lecture you should feel quite confident with the basic Swipe motion and you are able to continue to the next step.

This lecture introduces you to the setup and you learn how to add it to the basic motion of the swipe. With this you will feel that you get a lot more momentum and that the motion itself becomes much easier to do. Practice this one well - you are almost there!

In this last step you finally learn the Swipe. You will perform it in one go and only on one foot. This step shows you how to do one rep and from here you can improve the Swipe in any direction you want. Have fun and congrats on mastering this move!

Try to combine the Hook Kick, the Dropspin and the Swipe by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

This lecture gives you a introduction to setups in general. After this lecture you will know why setups build an essential element to any acrobatic movement.

In this theory lecture you learn about the three main setup types and how to distinguish them properly. You will be able to clearly see which part of a move is a setup and which is the core element. This will help you a lot in learning new tricks and is an essential element. Please memorise this lecture well and use the new gained knowledge right away in the following sections!

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Pop 720 Kick. After this lecture you have an idea of this kick, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill. Finally you are ready for learning the move by using the following progressions.

In this lecture you can study the Pop 720 Kick in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

We start from the very beginning in this first step and this is the twisting motion. In a Pop 720 the rotation is an essential part and very important for a successful execution of the kick. For that we need a solid twist. After this lecture you will be familiar with twisting upright and doing a pirouette without loosing the balance.

In this second lecture you are going to combine the run-up with the twisting part. The Pop 720 Kick is usually performed with a run-up. It kinda belongs to the move and that is why we are going to implement it at a very early stage of the move. Being able to link the run-up with the upright rotation builds the foundation and enables you to later on execute the kick. Please spend enough time at this step until you get it rock solid and then move on to the next step.

In this step we are going to separate the legs. You will learn how to keep one leg up and only land with the base leg. The leg you keep up is later on going to be your kicking leg. This step prepares you mainly for the kicking portion and the difficulty lies in still keeping the balance even though you keep one leg up. It might feel a bit intimidating or strange in the beginning but practice it slowly and you will get used to it quickly.

In this fourth lecture you learn how to extend the chambered leg. The goal of this step is to extend the leg (which prepares for the kick) and still get the whole rotation done. It is not as easy to keep the balance when extending the leg but keep focusing on having a straight and compact body and you will get the right timing soon. After completing this step you are almost there!

Finally the last step of this kick. In this step you learn how to implement an Inside Crescent or Hook Kick. The Inside Crescent is definitely the easier choice and also my favourite one. Take your time and work slowly on implementing and emphasising the kicks and create your very own stylish Pop 720 Kick. Congratulations and please let me know which one you like better - crescent or hook style!

Try to combine the Pop 720 Kick, Hook Kick and the Cartwheel by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

Try to combine the Pop 720 Kick, Hook Kick and the Aerial by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Cheat Step / Cheat Setup. After this lecture you have an idea of this setup, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill.

In this lecture you learn exactly which steps to take for the Cheat Setup. Slowly we add step by step until you memorise the steps and are able to execute it in one go. You work towards the take off point of the setup and after this section you can right away use this setup for the 540 Kick. Don`t worry if it isn`t perfect yet...we will practice this setup again in the 540 Kick lecture!

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the 540 Kick. After this lecture you have an idea of this kick, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill. Finally you are ready for learning the move by using the following progressions.

In this lecture you can study the Cheat 540 Kick in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

In the first lecture we are going to work on the foundation and this is the Tornado Kick. Without a decent Tornado Kick it is almost impossible to achieve a 540 Kick. You will repeat the Tornado a few times and you learn how to gain more height and speed for the kick. Spending enough time at this step will help you a lot in learning the next steps.

In the second step you learn how to land the Tornado Kick with both legs at the same time. In order to do this you need a lot more momentum than for a regular Tornado Kick. This momentum and the feeling you get when you land with both feet at the same time is an important building block on the road to the 540 Kick. Please spend a little time here - you will benefit from that afterwards!

In this lecture the motion is going to look similar to the 540 Kick. After feeling confident about landing two feet together you now start to separate legs and land on one leg only. This will be your kicking leg afterwards but for now the goal is to get this leg over and land on it safely. After successfully mastering this step you made it through the hardest part of the Cheat 540 Kick.

This is the last step and we are going to add the kick. You learn how to add either and Outside Crescent Kick or a Roundhouse Kick. You will notice that emphasising the kick will create a huge difference and only this will make the 540 Kick look sharp and crispy. Please try out different angles, variations and types and have fun. And congratulations on achieving this difficult but amazing kick!

Try to combine the Hook Kick, the 540 Kick and the Cartwheel by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

Try to combine the Hook Kick, 540 Kick and the Aerial by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Cheat 720 Kick. After this lecture you have an idea of this kick, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill. Finally you are ready for learning the move by using the following progressions.

In this lecture you can study the Cheat 720 Kick in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

In the first step you are working on the cheat setup and on the spin. For the cheat setup it is mainly repetition and the same as for the Tornado Kick. But unlike these kicks for the Cheat 720 you need to add a spin before you execute the kick. And this is the portion we will focus on in this lecture. Have fun!

In the second step you learn how to control the rotation and only land on one foot. This is an important step since it will provide you with the skills you need afterwards to execute the kick. Remember to stay and keep your body upright when practicing this step and you will soon feel very confident in this motion.

In this lecture you are going to stretch and extend you leg. Eventually it will feel almost like doing a kick already. After mastering this step you will be almost there and only a few details are left until you have the Cheat 720 Kick in your pocket.

In this last step we will work on a few details. You learn how to take more momentum and get the right timing to execute the kick. You also learn how emphasise the kick and do an Inside Crescent or Hook Kick. After completing this step you will have mastered this awesome kick and you can style it further any way you want.

Try to combine the Hook Kick, the Cheat 720 Kick and the Tornado Kick by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

This lecture gives you a introduction to Raiz Type Moves in general. After this lecture you will know why they belong to it`s own movement family and you have a clearer picture about them.

In this lecture you learn that moves like the Gumbi, Touch Down Raiz and Raiz belong to the same "movement family". The contain the same elements and are related to each other. It makes a lot of sense to understand their similarities. Once you know the connection between these moves it will become very clear and you can learn them much easier. Have fun with these really unconventional moves.

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Touch Down Raiz. After this lecture you have an idea of this trick, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill. Finally you are ready for learning the move by using the following progressions.

In this summary video you see all the steps and the progressions from step 1 to step 3. It is in slow-motion and gives you an overall idea and structure on how to work through the steps. You learn how the Touch Down Raiz is built up and how the teaching structure in this lecture will be.

In this lecture you can study the Touch Down Raiz in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

We start the first lecture by repeating some Gumbi`s. Then you will learn to slightly modify the Gumbi and you start jumping into it. The aim of this first step is to get really confident with the Gumbi so that you are even able to jump into it. Feeling comfortable at this move is the most important thing to later achieve the TdRaiz.

In the second step you essentially transform the Gumbi into a TdRaiz by letting go through your right hand. Please take a soft crash mat to practice this step since it can be a bit intimidating at first. Take it slowly and practice safely step by step and you will be able to land on only one hand. The aim of this lecture is to become confident in landing on one hand only. After mastering this you have completed the most difficult part of the TdRaiz and you can look forward to the next and final lecture.

The last step - you are almost there! In this lecture you learn how to keep you body in a more straight line. This helps you to get more inverted and makes the TdRaiz efficient and stylish. Please take your time to clean up the TdRaiz. It is something which needs some time and doesn`t happen over night. Just keep on repeating the TdRaiz and keep the details in mind and you will soon have an awesome looking Touch Down Raiz. Congratulations on this huge achievement!

Try to combine the Hook Kick with the Touch Down Raiz by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Two Step Run-Up. After this lecture you have an idea of this setup, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill.

In this lecture you learn exactly which steps to take for the Two Step Run-Up. Slowly we add step by step until you memorise the steps and are able to execute it in one go. You work towards the take off point of the setup and after this section you can right away use this setup for the Butterfly Kick. Don`t worry if it isn`t perfect yet...we will practice this setup again in the B-Kick lecture.

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Butterfly Kick. After this lecture you have an idea of this trick, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill. Finally you are ready for learning the move by using the following progressions.

In this summary video you see all the steps and the progressions from step 1 to step 5. It is in slow-motion and gives you an overall idea and structure on how to work through the steps. You learn how the Butterfly Kick is built up and how the teaching structure in this lecture will be.

In this lecture you can study the Butterfly Twist in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

First things first! In this lecture we are going to repeat the B-Kick. This move is the prerequisite for the B-Kick and you should feel absolutely confident about this trick. Have fun and repeat it until you feel like you can progress to the next step.

In step two we are starting to learn the twisting portion of the move. For me it was best to practice this from standing so you will do it the same way. Please take a soft crash mat for this step to have a soft landing. At first it might feel weird and unusual but I am sure the more you do it the better you will understand the rotational movement.

In this third step you learn how to use your rear leg. Using this in the right way will help you to enter the rotation in a more horizontal way. It makes the twist look much more horizontal and also makes it easier to perform. This step will not only teach you technique but also conditions your body to become stronger for the B-Twist. You are also getting closer to the landing in this step!

This step is called "search the landing" and this is actually something really important for the B-Twist. When you twist in the air you want to look ahead of you and search the spot you want to place your foot. Doing so the motion will feel much better under control and eventually you will be able to land your first B-Twists on your feet. Yay!

Ok, in this last step we add the run-up to the twisting motion. Combine them slowly first and work it up until you can do it in one go without a stop. You will notice that this will make the twisting motion (the actual B-Twist motion) much easier and more effortless. Once you are able to do it in one go and land the B-Twist solid you can improve it from here. There are so many variations and I wish you a lot of fun exploring them!

Try to combine the Hook Kick with the Butterfly Twist by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

Try to combine the Hook Kick, the Butterfly Twist, again Hook Kick and a Tornado Kick by connecting them smoothly with each other. Do each move separately and slow first and gradually add more flow until you can link them smoothly. Have fun and rock this combo!

This lecture gives you an introduction to flipping motions and basic theory about it. Just a few words to prepare you for the following theory lecture. Have fun!

In this theory lecture you learn about the main directions in which our body is able to execute flipping motions. This concept helps a lot in understanding which axes one is able to do flips. After this lecture you will have a good understanding how flips work and you are prepared for starting to learn your first flipping motions.

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Frontflip. After this lecture you have an idea of this trick, what it looks like and how you can achieve this skill. Finally you are ready for learning the move by using the following progressions.

In this summary video you see all the steps and the progressions from step 1 to step 4. It is in slow-motion and gives you an overall idea and structure on how to work through the steps. You learn how the Frontflip is built up and how the teaching structure in this lecture will be.

In this lecture you can study the Frontflip in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

In this first progression you learn the setup of the Frontflip. The setup is an essential part of many tricks and especially for the Frontflip. Doing a Frontflip from standing is many times more difficult than with a run-up. And therefore we are going to learn this at first!

In step two you learn to fly! :-) The dive roll is an ideal preparation for achieving the airtime you need to afterwards flip and land on the feet again. The feeling is great when you dive through the air and you will probably already be amazed by that feeling. Practice this step well and the flip will be very easy to implement.

In this third step you are finally going to do the flipping motion and rotate until you land on the feet again. After successfully mastering the previous two steps this is not as difficult anymore and you will have a lot of fun. Also during this step you will land a Frontflip for the first time ever. So have fun!

In this last step we are going to work on the details so that you will be able to not only land but also land it in a comfortable manner. We talk mostly about how to gain height in order to make the landing more upright and with this also more comfortable. By the end of this lecture your Frontflip will feel very nice and easy!

This is a quick introduction lecture with basic knowledge about the Sideflip.

You learn how the Sideflip is built up and how the teaching structure in this lecture will be.

In this lecture you can study the Sideflip in slow motion from all four different angles. This helps you to spot details which are very subtle and sometimes easily overlooked in the progression steps. I recommend you to revisit this lecture often because it will help you a lot in memorising the motion. Have fun!

In this first step we (like usually) take a closer look at the setup. Like for the Frontflip also here the setup is an essential part of the whole motion. Doing a Sideflip from standing isn`t as difficult as a Standing Frontflip but is still many times more difficult than by using a run-up. It provides you with a lot of momentum which you then take into the flipping motion. Please practice this run-up well since it will also become useful for other tricks.

In step two you learn how to actually fall over. It might be a bit unusual at the beginning but the more you do it the more "normal" it will become. This falling over motion builds the foundation to later flip over sideways. This step is not too crazy but try to memorise the feeling you get when you let yourself fall over.
