We learn that punctuation is not the same as grammar - it's much, much simpler. We also learn how important it can be. One man was hanged in London during the first world war, but would have lived if it had not been for a comma.

We look at the sentence in its most basic form and see how difficult it is to read a passage without stumbling when there is no punctuation. We improve things out of all recognition with just two items of punctuation.

We learn about the Interrobang and its resemblace to the SS insignia. We explore the use and abuse of the exclamation mark and the question mark, their role in conveying emotion. We also learn about people who wear cardboard boxes on their feet.

The colon is one of the easiest punctuation marks to use. It acts as ringmaster to the sentence.
We learn about the second use of apostrophes, to denote ownership, and we meet the added complication of more than one 'owner'. Some simple tests help us out.
