There are many, many benefits of eating alkaline foods and following a more alkaline diet. We look at exactly what you can experience as a positive change to your life when switching to a lower fat, alkaline and plant-based (vegetarian/vegan) diet.

Unlike a standard American/Western diet which contains a fair amount of meat, dairy, saturated fat and processed food, this diet can act as medicine and a boost for your health and a kickstart to easy and sustained weight loss. When you make a positive shift in your diet to include more clean and lean plant foods - fruits, vegetables, healthy wholegrains, alkaline water - you can expect some detox symptoms. This is your body kicking out the acidic toxins that were previously in your system and that now have a chance to purge from your body.

Don't worry, this is a really positive thing and the symptoms will pass quickly but it definitely helps to know in advance what to expect!
