When Ken Atkin fought the legendary Tommy Hearns we practiced the shoulder roll for eight weeks before our fight with Hearns in Aloha stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. Atkin lost the fight because of a cut eye but he was never tagged, hurt or knocked down by Hearns because he effectively used the shoulder roll.
