Esta ha sido la premisa de movimientos sociales cuyo trabajo ha ido más allá de señalar los efectos jerárquicos y excluyentes de los órdenes racistas, clasistas, sexistas y heteronormativos en la vida cotidiana, para proponer, además de cambios legales que sustenten dichos órdenes, éticas, formas de diferentes relaciones y socialidad.

El hecho de que grupos históricamente discriminados sean los actores centrales en las luchas por la justicia social no significa que sean los únicos responsables. Así como la lucha contra el racismo o el clasismo no concierne sólo a los pueblos y comunidades racializadas o a las clases sociales explotadas, la crítica al sexismo, la transfobia y la homofobia debería involucrar no sólo a las mujeres y a las personas LGBTIQ+. Es necesario que las personas que disfrutan de privilegios promuevan prácticas destinadas a construir instituciones, espacios y estilos de vida equitativos e inclusivos si anhelan un mundo menos desigual.

Este curso aborda herramientas clave para hacer de las organizaciones e instituciones espacios más habitables para personas y comunidades subordinadas por razones de género y sexualidad. Para empezar, sitúa la relevancia política de estos temas a nivel internacional, teniendo en cuenta el desarrollo de marcos regulatorios en materia de discriminación e inclusión.
