El Holocausto: el abismo de la humanidad from Coursera

El curso "El Holocausto: el abismo de la humanidad" enriquecerá la comprensión de los participantes sobre la historia del Holocausto a través de testimonios de sobrevivientes y de la participación de expertos de habla hispana de Israel, España, América Latina y los Estados Unidos. Además, los educadores expertos de Yad Vashem comparten sus enfoques pedagógicos de vanguardia para la educación sobre el Holocausto y presentan talleres listos para aplicar en el aula.

El curso, basado en videos, el primero de su tipo completamente en español, expone a los participantes paso a paso la ideología y los desarrollos que llevaron al asesinato masivo sistemático de aproximadamente 6,000,000 de judíos; hombres, mujeres y niños. Asimismo, incluye materiales de archivo, visuales y filmaciones, líneas de tiempo, mapas, obras de arte y materiales especialmente desarrollados, todo lo cual ayuda a la comprensión de los principales conceptos históricos y figuras del Holocausto.

Además, el curso analiza el impacto del Holocausto en los países de habla hispana, tanto durante como después del Holocausto: los procesos migratorios de los sobrevivientes; cómo fueron recibidos en diferentes países por los gobiernos y la sociedad; su adaptación a sus nuevos hogares; y la conmemoración del Holocausto en el mundo de habla hispana.

La vida judía antes del Holocausto y el ascenso del partido nazi al poder

En esta primera semana presentaremos la historia del pueblo judío antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, obtendremos algunos conocimientos esenciales sobre el fenómeno del antisemitismo moderno y su lugar en la ideología nazi. Además exploraremos el ascenso al poder del partido nazi presidido por Adolf Hitler en Alemania y presentaremos algunos de los sucesos relacionados en particular con el mundo de habla hispana que ocurrieron a medida que las persecuciones contra el pueblo judío se iniciaron y se intensificaron.

El estallido de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y la guetoización

En esta semana, hablaremos acerca del desencadenamiento de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la ocupación nazi en Polonia, Dinamarca, Noruega, Países Bajos, Bélgica, Luxemburgo, Francia, Yugoslavia y Grecia, con sus respectivas poblaciones judías. Debatiremos acerca de varias políticas y medidas antijudías introducidas por el régimen nazi, entre otras, la señal de oprobio y el confinamiento en guetos de los judíos, así como los intentos de resistencia por parte de los judíos.

La "Solucion final" y el fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial

En esta semana cubriremos el período de guerra desde junio de 1941 hasta el final de la guerra en 1945. Veremos de qué modo en la segunda mitad de 1941, tras la invasión alemana de la Unión Soviética y su expansión hacia el Este, a otras regiones ampliamente pobladas por judíos, rodeados por población local no judía, los nazis comenzaron a aplicar la “Solución final a la cuestión judía” - un plan concebido para la destrucción total y sistemática de todas las comunidades judías europeas en fosas de fusilamiento comunes y en campos de exterminio.

América Latina y el Holocausto

Durante esta semana nos dedicaremos específicamente al escenario de los países de habla hispana. Presentaremos las respuestas del mundo occidental, incluidos los países latinoamericanos, la inmigración de los judíos sobrevivientes a América Latina, las manifestaciones e influencias antisemitas contemporáneas y la negación del Holocausto en esta parte del mundo. También hablaremos sobre la memoria y la conmemoración en América Latina y España.

Enseñando el Holocausto

La quinta y última semana estará dedicada exclusivamente a los aspectos educativos donde presentaremos talleres con planes de lección que podrán ser aplicados para la enseñanza del Holocausto en diversos temas trabajados en este curso. Estas propuestas de trabajo están adecuadas a las diferentes edades de los alumnos, teniendo en cuenta su capacidad cognitiva y emocional.
