Collaboration administrators need to configure their systems to communicate both traditional and IP telephony services. We are going to show you how to deploy P STN gateways, dial peers, trunks, session border controllers, and media resources.

Today’s collaboration administrators need to be able to configure their Cisco Unified Communications Manager clusters to communicate with a variety of telephony services. In this course, Cisco Collaboration Core: Implementing Cisco IOS Gateway and Media Resources, you are going to see how to deploy gateways, trunks, and session border controllers, also known as CUBEs, as well as provide your customers with media resources. First, you will learn how to configure both H.323 and SIP trunks to communicate with remote systems. Next, you will discover how to deploy Cisco routers to support traditional telephony ISDN circuits and interface with CUCM using both VoIP and POTS dial peers. You will also explore the step-by-step process of configuring a Cisco SIP session border controller to connect to CUCM and an IP telephony service provider, and see how to implement more advanced commands to help you avoid potential problems while increasing reliability and efficiency. You will also learn to troubleshoot more effectively by demonstrating how to use traces and tools to collect and examine SIP messages. Finally, you will dig into how to provide your endpoints with a variety of media resources using Cisco Unified Communications Manager as well as Cisco routers and CUBEs. When you are finished with this course, you will have the skills and knowledge needed to efficiently deploy trunks, configure a CUBE, provide media resources, and be well on your way to passing the Cisco Collaboration Core exam.
