A Basic Definition of Neurodiversity- What it means, how it affects workplace culture, and how to approach what can be a tricky topic

In this lecture, we will delve into a brief summary of common exceptionalities/examples of neurodiversity prevalent in both society and in the workplace.

Students will be able to identify and apply different ways to support neurodiverse colleagues in their workplace

This video will cover:

  • What constitutes an 'appropriate' accommodation?

  • How does the phrase 'Undue Burden' affect the accommodations that one can request?

  • What would be an example of an 'inappropriate' accommodation that would fall under 'Undue Burden?'

This video will go over the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and how it legally protects employees who are part of 'protected classes', such as those with exceptionalities (that are improperly labeled as 'disabilities.')
