They work with stakeholders across the organization to gather information, analyze data, and develop recommendations for how to improve business processes. Business analysts play a vital role in ensuring that IT projects are aligned with business goals and objectives.
Skills and Knowledge
Business analysts need a strong understanding of both business and technology. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they need to be able to work effectively with people from all levels of the organization. Business analysts also need to be able to think critically and solve problems, as well as have a strong understanding of data analysis and modeling techniques. Education and Training
There are a number of different paths to a career as a business analyst. Some business analysts have a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field. Others may have a master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field. There are also a number of certification programs available for business analysts, such as the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification.
